In the city as flat as Cambridge, the inhabitants become very excited by hills. If you walk up Castle Street then climb up Castle Mound, you will be rewarded with one of the best views of the city (and the sight of the cranes everywhere on the horizon will also reveal just how far Cambridge is expanding)..
The hill’s origins go back to Roman times, and that for nearly 1,000 years it was the centre of Cambridge.
