OUR STORY
University Arms is Cambridge’s original hotel, dating back to 1834 and recently fully re-imagined, renovated and refurbished after a 3-year redevelopment at the hands of renowned Architect John Simpson and Interior Designer Martin Brudnizki.
The property consists of 189 design-led bedrooms, complemented by Parker’s Tavern, a high-end, quintessentially British restaurant & bar by award winning local chef-restaurateur Tristan Welch, along with the adjoining library and bar. Our 272 metres square Ballroom rivals the college dining halls, and offers beautiful views across Parker’s Piece through floor to ceiling stained-glass windows, it is truly an unrivalled event space in the city.
Completing the property are our 2 newly created treatment rooms, with products by Aromatherapy Associates, offering a new luxury experience for Cambridge.
As a member of the Autograph Collection, the property will appeal to those seeking hotel experiences that leave a vivid imprint and lasting memories every time they travel.
WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES:
This role sits within the Sales and Marketing department and involves the complete handling of events from beginning to end. This includes: quoting and handling incoming enquiries; sending proposals; contracting; conducting site inspections and full event detailing. The coordinator role also has an administrative element that includes creating function sheets, posting charges and conducting client follow-up to ensure event satisfaction.
The role will work on pro-active projects to generate new leads to build a pipeline of future business and ensure growth.
The is an exciting and varied role but requires the ability to be able to juggle a number of projects whilst paying great attention to detail.
WHO WE LOOKING FOR:
·An outgoing, energetic, confident personality with the ability to work independently as well as part of a lively and extremely busy team
·Exceptional attention to detail required
·Customer service experience required
·Hospitality experience, including knowledge of Opera, sales and catering, preferred
