Tamzin Outhwaite takes on the iconic role of Beverly in Mike Leigh’s acclaimed black comedy Abigail’s Party.
Set in suburban Essex in 1977, the play follows Beverly and her husband Laurence as they host an awkward drinks party for neighbours Angela, Tony and Sue, while the unseen Abigail throws a noisy party next door. As the alcohol flows and tensions rise, polite conversation spirals into biting arguments, flirtation and uncomfortable revelations.
