Music from early modern Japan

This free event introduces shinnai bushi, a traditional Japanese musical storytelling style from the Edo period. Featuring performances by Okamoto Miyanosuke and Okamoto Toranosuke, the concert explores the history and culture behind this unique art form, with explanations in English and Japanese. No prior knowledge of Japanese language or culture is needed, making it an accessible introduction for all audiences.
