Sunday 1st June, 10am - 1pm, £70 per person.

Join us for a watercolour workshop dedicated to capturing the beauty of summer peonies at University Arms. Our guest artist, Amanda Kirk, brings a wealth of experience in art and design, having begun her journey at Winchester School of Art before earning a BA in Printed Textiles from Chelsea College of Art & Design. Her deep love of flora led her to the Royal College of Art, where she gained a Master’s in Natural History Illustration. With a distinctive style that combines meticulous observation and a designer’s eye for composition, she creates layered, expressive botanical works that are both detailed and dynamic.

In this 3-hour workshop, Amanda will guide you through painting peonies with a loose, expressive approach using just one brush. You’ll explore mark-making techniques to add movement and character while learning how to harness the unique qualities of watercolours—creating dreamy, fluid washes of colour that bring your floral compositions to life. Half-way through the workshop there will be an opportunity to break for a Parker's Tavern cream tea, tea & coffee before completing your piece.

All materials are provided, including worksheets to reference during the class and take home, allowing you to continue practicing and developing your new skills beyond the workshop. Perfect for all skill levels, this session will help you build confidence and develop your own artistic voice.

There is a maximum of ten places to this workshop to enable everyone to receive a combination of group and one to one guidance, so help is always at hand. This small size also promotes a relaxing atmosphere and the opportunity for discussion and questions.
